In this letter written on the headed paper of the Grosvenor Hotel, London, to the pianist Caroline de Serres, Saint-Saëns discusses his "rescuing" of a French singer and his wife by finding them a room at the Grosvenor, and preparation for his upcoming performances at soirées given in his honor by wealthy Londoners.
